Cairo Monorail
Monorail in the New Administrative Capital (East of the Nile)
Monorail 6 October (West Nile)
The monorail train project is one of the modern state projects of the National Tunnels Authority, which has been implemented since 2019. With the aim of developing a railway transportation system linking various regions,
A monorail is a single-line train whose mechanism relies on the use of electricity in the transportation process between close distances, with a passenger capacity and a rated speed that does not reach the limit of an electric train. It will be implemented in Egypt, linking the New Administrative Capital to Greater Cairo, which is considered a qualitative breakthrough in the transportation sector in Egypt.
How does a monorail train work?
It is possible to describe the monorail train as a hybrid between the metro and train projects. Its working mechanism depends on electricity, which the electric train relies on. It also runs on an above-ground railway line, while it does not allow movement outside the city limits like the metro. Its purpose is to move between stations that are not geographically distant
