💳 Payment
99% of sites now accept card only — cash is no longer accepted at most major museums. Bring a Visa or Mastercard. Book online where possible to avoid queues.
🎓 Discounts
Students with valid ID receive 50% discount at all official sites. Children under 6 enter free. Egyptians aged 60+ and those with disabilities also receive free or reduced entry.
🕐 Hours
Most museums open 9am–5pm daily. Luxor museums open 9am–1pm then 5pm–8pm. Some sites have extended summer hours. Always verify before visiting as hours change seasonally.
📸 Photography
Photography is permitted in most museums but tripods are usually banned. Flash photography is prohibited in most galleries. Some special collections charge an additional camera fee.
🌡️ Best Time
Visit museums in the morning (opening time) for the best experience. Summer heat makes outdoor sites difficult after 10am. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is not air-conditioned — go early or in winter.
